What We Do
MYSO Atlanta's commitment to creating impactful musical experiences for Atlanta's young musicians begins with weekly rehearsals of challenging full orchestral music under the direction of experienced conductors and educators. Each MYSO ensemble plays at least three fully programmed concerts each season.

We also offer a Chamber Music Program that rehearses on the same day as our regular orchestra rehearsals.
Symphony Orchestra
Dedicated Elite Musicians
Nurturing the development of collegiate level musicianship, the MYSO Symphony, requires the highest level of skill and maturity of any MYSO ensemble. Symphony players can expect to perform repertoire such as Dvorak #7, Tchaikovsky #6, Beethoven #5, Overture to Slavonic Dances, and more. Participation is selected based on auditions held prior to the start of each season. This ensemble typically attracts high school aged performers.
Performing Ensembles
Philharmonia Orchestra
Challenging Skill Development
MYSO is dedicated to providing engaging opportunities for talented young musicians to develop the musical skills required to perform some of the greatest literature ever written. Philharmonia members will rehearse and perform music specifically selected by MYSO's Music Director to prepare students for future participation in Symphony Orchestra. Philharmonia Members are typically in late middle school or early high school.
